Welcoming all emotions, sensations, and memories , allowing them to be fully experienced is a way of dissolving them. When we try to avoid or get rid of unwanted ,feelings sensations memories ( or our story ), we are actually reeenforcing the very experience that we are trying to avoid. This is a simple concept to understand at least intellectually, however we often leave it at an intellectual level and fail to actually investigate it experiencally. This is what we do on an Retreat. We allow ourselves the time and space to fully experience aspects of our life experience which we usually tend to avoid supress or ignore. It seems paradoxical but when we take the time to fully experience these aspects of ourselves space opens up, our thinking clears ond our experience appears to change.
